We like to indulge on these little bites off goodness year round! How To Make Toffee With Club Crackers
#Recipe coated club crackers with peanut butter crack
(My mouth is watering just thinking about it!)Ī few years ago, our friends made some similar treats for our family and they were devoured in minutes! Instead of using saltine crackers, they used club crackers which literally melts in your mouth! We called this toffee treat Christmas Crack because it is absolutely irresistable! Even though that name implies they are only to be made only during the holidays, there are definitely no such regulations in my home. My aunt used to make a simple toffee recipe using saltine crackers, and while it may sound a bit odd, there is something so yummy about the salty crunch of the crackers mixed with the sweet, smooth texture of the chocolate.

I love making this cracker toffee around the holidays along with these delicious Christmas Tree Cookies and Christmas Blossoms.

For the filling, I used 1/3 of the amounts listed below and for the topping, 1/2 of the amounts below plus extra chocolate for anchoring.Christmas crack toffee is a simple recipe that is one of my family’s favorite Christmas treats! Made with club crackers, brown sugar and chocolate, this salty sweet dessert is addictingly delicious! For the last batch I used 24 Ritz, 3 layers of 8 crackers, and a loaf pan that was about 4 inches wide.

I crave these so often I sometimes make a loaf pan version. And don’t forget the milk! Half batch of Club Crackers made with Ritz instead of Club Crackers Loaf Pan Version I was careless with my batch and the graham cracker mixture separated, making it harder to spread. Also, remember to stir the softened butter, sugars and cracker crumbs together until everything is evenly mixed before you put it on the stove. For the filling, just halve all the ingredients and be sure to use a smaller saucepan such as a 1 1/2 to 2 quart. I made a little half batch today using Ritz crackers and it worked pretty well. If an 8 inch pan is all you need, good news! The recipe halves well. I also like to melt about 4 oz extra chocolate, spread it on the bottom of the pan and anchor the crackers in the melted chocolate. The amount in the recipe works, but I make 1 1/2 times.
